From our club adviser, Ms. Salat:
Miss Cleo Fleming, graduating senior at North Shore High School, was honored as Student of the Month For March. Miss Fleming has 564 hours of service and is a four-year distinguished member of the North Shore Key Club. Cleo is a member of the National Honor Society, a super star on the athletic field, and an accomplish dancer and Co-President of the North Shore Pulse Dance Team. On behalf of the North Shore Kiwanis Club we congratulate Cleo on her outstanding accomplishments and wish her the very best in all future endeavors. Pictured is Senior Cleo Fleming, holding her well deserved plaque, accompanied by her proud parents and the President of the NS Kiwanis Club Roger Hill. To learn more about the NS Kiwanis Club visit the website: www.nskiwanis.org and our Facebook page. During the past month, the Key Club has helped fund-raise at the annual Acoustic Cafe, helped run the annual Senior Citizen Prom and attended another divisional meeting (pictures of all this are below). It was a very successful year for us and we look forward to another successful year in September.
Stay tuned as we do have Relay for Life coming up and summer opportunities will be posted shortly on the "Events Calendar" page. Good luck to everyone on their final exams and, as always, thanks for your support. We had an excellent year and are fortunate enough to have many committed members.
We would like to take a moment to recognize our seniors for the commitment and outstanding effort and contributions. Many of them have been with us for all four of their years in high school. Last year, the North Shore Key Club created a basketball tournament event to raise money for Autism speaks. Many students enjoyed it so much that they asked when the next one would be. We couldn't let them down and just had our second (now annual) "Alley-Oops for Autism" event, which is now one of our biggest events. We are happy to announce that this year's event raised thousands of dollars in support for Autism speaks and we look forward to more success and an opportunity to unite the community through basketball to fundraise for Autism speaks in the future. |
